GABRIELLE PHILLIPS & WILLIAM BLACK MARCH 13, 2004
ABOUT GABRIELLE I've lived in Texas for over 15 years. I graduated from the University of North Texas in December 2001 with a BS in Business Computer Information System. I am still attending UNT & am pursuing a MS in IT. I love dancing, surfing the internet and watching movies. ABOUT WILLIAM William is a native of Dallas, TX. He also attends UNT and will graduate Fall of 2004 with a BS in IT. William is a huge Sci-Fi fan. He loves "Lost in Space," "Star Trek" (especially, Deep Space Nine) and "Babylon 5." William doesn't like dancing, he says that he has two left feet but once he gets on the dance floor it is hard to get him off. :o) HOW WE MET We met in May of 2001 through a mutual friend, Leena. We went over to William's house to watch Arnold Swarzenegger's "The 6th Day." Several days later William called & asked me out. On our first date, we went to Malibu Speedzone to do some racing. We later had dinner at Logan's Steakhouse & went to the AMC Grand to watch "What's the Worst Thing That Could Happen?" with Martin Lawrence & Danny Devito. :o) WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED August 20, 2003 HOW IT HAPPENED William planned a romantic evening with dinner at an upscale restaurant. All I wanted was some crème brulee! After the main course the Maître D' came to our table giving me a platter telling me that it was "Compliments of the chef." It took me a minute to realize that it was covered with rose petals. On top of the petals was a crystal turtle. Written in chocolate on the platter were the words "Will you marry me, Gabby?" I was speechless, I took the lid off the crystal turtle to get to the little black velvet box which had the ring in it. William smiled and asked "Will you marry me, Gabby?" With tears in my eyes, I said "yes!" We then had crème brulee & a glass of champagne compliments of the house! WHEN & WHERE March 13, 2004 ABOUT THE BIG DAY Heritage Hall is a renovated church that was built in the 1940's and is located in Irving Heritage District. The altar is always adorned with roses and cascading greenery to create a rose garden atmosphere.
